22 May 20

Another week, another list of feel-good stories to give you those warm, fuzzy vibes for the long weekend. Let’s get to it!

1. Captain Tom Moore Awarded Knighthood

Everyone’s favourite war veteran and philanthropic hero Captain Tom Moore is to be knighted. After raising more than £32m for NHS charities, we think there’s no one who deserves it more right now.

2. Jennifer Garner is All of Us During Quarantine

If you happen to know any of the TEN6 team personally, you probably know that we’ve been obsessed with Daði Freyr’s “Think About Things” for months (well before TikTok made him cool, thank you very much). But Jennifer Garner has taken it up a level, creating her own music video to the would-be Eurovision winner in her laundry room, complete with wine and an unwilling cat co-star.

3. NOLA Woman Brings the Party to Hospital Workers

A New Orleans woman used her coronavirus stimulus check to bring a concert to local hospital workers. Emily Bauman hired out-of-work jazz musicians to bring some joy to the key workers in true NOLA fashion.

4. 92-Year-Old Holocaust Survivor Teaches Piano Virtually

Cornelia Vertenstein isn’t letting coronavirus stop her from helping others learn to play the piano. She’s taught for more than 50 years and has now adapted to giving lessons over FaceTime from her home in Denver, Colorado.

5. Penguins Get a Bit of Culture

Three Humboldt penguins had a field trip to Kansas City’s Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. "These very difficult times are allowing us to experiment and do things that would otherwise be hard to imagine," said the museum's director, Julián Zugazagoitia. Check out the photos...trust us, you won’t be disappointed.

6. Dad, How Do I?

After growing up without a father, Rob Kenney has decided to become a positive male role model to anyone in similar situations. He recently started a YouTube channel called “Dad, How Do I?”, which provides video tutorials from shaving to tying a tie.
